The European Union will keep
the anti-Russian sanctions in place until the Minsk Agreements on eastern
Ukraine are implemented in full, European Council President Donald Tusk said.
The EU will not leave Ukraine
alone, Tusk told a news conference following the EU-Ukraine summit held in
Brussels on Thursday, also hailing the efforts made by Ukrainian authorities
and the country's president, Petro Poroshenko, with regard to implementing
reforms in some very harsh conditions.
Any success made by Ukraine
will be a success of Europe, Tusk said.
He went on to promise that the
EU will carry on doing everything in support of Ukraine's sovereignty,
independence and territorial integrity.
The European Union will keep
the sanctions earlier imposed on Russia until complete implementation of the
Minsk Agreements, Tusk said.
