PM is confident that joint efforts of Ukraine and EU to provide good results for development of digital technologies in Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman is convinced that the joint efforts of the EU and Ukraine aimed at cooperation in the digital economy will contribute to the development of electronic technology in Ukraine, stated the Head of Government at the Forum on digital economy with the participation of European Commissioner Günter Oettinger, on Tuesday.

"The experience that has the European Union and the personal leadership of European CommissionerOettinger will provide a very good result in this extremely important area of our cooperation, as well as the development of our economy. I am convinced that our joint efforts will bear fruit," noted Volodymyr Groysman.

Thus, the Prime Minister pointed out that today he met with EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Guenther Oettinger. The parties have agreed to establish a working group "to develop a joint action plan and assess the requirements for Ukraine's accession to the EU digital community," informed the Head of Government.

Ukraine has a wide range of activities with the EU in the area of digital technologies, said VolodymyrGroysman. Among the possible areas for the development of digital technology and the introduction of new modern methods of governance are, according to him, e- customs, e-economy, e-commerce. The Government also faces the challenge of change and the widespread introduction of electronic management in Ukraine.

"The world is moving fast, technology is developing. We have to build up a sustainable strategy for the development of relations with the European Union in the digital economy," said the Prime Minister.

Ukraine has a great potential for the development of digital technologies in the country, taking into account "achievements, quality education, educated population, the growing market and needs the time dictates today," he said.

"We are confident in Ukraine’s ability to hold a leading position in this area [digital technologies]. We will do our utmost in order to implement such technologies," emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.
