About 10:30 p.m. on Thursday night, a truck turned onto the Promenade des Anglais and barreled down the waterfront street, killing dozens who had gathered to watch Bastille Day fireworks.
The truck was “full of weapons and grenades,” the deputy mayor of Nice said on French television.
“The individual who was driving the truck has been neutralized,” the Interior Ministry spokesman, Pierre-Henry Brandet, said on Twitter. “The investigation will determine if he acted alone.”
