Volodymyr Groysman urged the Verkhovna Rada to consider the next plenary week issues of raising social standards, the abolition of tax on pensions and the simplification of registration of medicines of foreign origin

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called on the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the following plenary week to consider and adopt Government’s decisions on improvement of welfare standards by 10% from December 1, the elimination of pension tax and the simplification of procedures to register quality medicines of foreign origin in Ukraine. The Prime Minister said at a Government meeting on Thursday, May 5th.

The Prime Minister informed that next week the plenary session of the Parliament was due. In this regard, the Premier urged First Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubivand Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksandr Saienko to take part in today’s working meeting of heads of factions and groups under the chairmanship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Speaker Andrii Parubii to ensure that the agenda would be outlined most effectively and reasonably together with the colleagues MPs and all the necessary decisions would be taken.

In particular, according to the Head of Government, the agenda for next week includes issues ofincreasing social standards by 10% from 1 December and the abolition of the taxation of pensions in Ukraine. "I will ask to ensure this issue to be timely approved by the Parliamentary committees and be discussed at one of the upcoming meetings of the Parliament", said Volodymyr Groysman.

Also it is vital "to fix by Law" an issue of simplification of access for high quality medications producedabroad to the market of Ukraine. The Prime Minister recalled that a recent decision of the Government providedthat drugs produced and consumed in the markets of the EU, the U.S.A., Switzerland, Canada, Australia and Japan within 30 days can be admitted to the Ukrainian market without research, "which could have delayed for years, through corruption, the chances for quality drugs to get to consumer”.

"We should open up the market. And all this will contribute to the reduction of drug prices and increasing a range of quality medicines that will help people to get treatment", he stressed.

In this regard, Volodymyr Groysman called on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to inform manufacturers and distributors of the relevant decisions adopted by the Government.


Moreover, the Prime Minister thanked the MPs of Ukraine, who had noted the need for amendments to the government bill on the registration and consumption of foreign drugs. "Please, this Law should be consideredwithout delay at the session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.
