The Antonov An-225 Mriya (Airport Pert, Australia)

The Antonov An-225 Mriya – the largest aircraft in the world and the only one of its type – is scheduled to arrive into Perth Airport on Sunday 15 May 2016 at approximately 10.00am. This arrival time is subject to change.

Where can I see the Antonov An-225 Mriya arrive?

For the best vantage point for the aircraft arrival, head towards the T1/T2 precinct and follow the event signage on Airport Drive.

Parking is free of charge in Long Term Car Parks G and K. Please note, standard parking fees will apply in all other car parks.

What can I expect on the day?

Depending on which runway the Antonov arrives on – and this can only be determined by Airservices Australia on the day – you may be lucky enough to see the touchdown. Depending on the arrival time, the Antonov may then taxi past the vantage point on Airport Drive.
Parking is free of charge in Long Term Car Parks G and K. Standard parking fees will apply in all other car parks.
Amenities such as toilets and food vans will be on site. This is a no smoking event and no pets are allowed on site.
The Antonov Event Zone is not paved, so please dress appropriately (closed in shoes) for the conditions. – All spectators enter at their own risk.

Other locations

The Public Viewing Area on Dunreath Drive will be open, but is expected to fill up very quickly and will be closed once at capacity.
The Level 3 viewing deck at T1 International has limited capacity, and it is expected there will be long queues and wait times. There will also be time restrictions for the viewing deck and the area will be cleared of all visitors every 30 minutes.
There is restricted viewing in the other terminals (T1 Domestic, T3 and T4), and they are not recommended vantage points.

Drones

Regulations surrounding Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), commonly referred to as ‘drones’, is detailed in the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Regulations and stipulates that you must not fly a drone within three nautical miles (5.5 kilometres) of an aerodrome.
If you are found with a drone at Perth Airport you will be reported to the Australian Federal Police and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority immediately.
