Meeting between Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey: Ukrainian policemen will pass training in Turkey



President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the framework of the working visit to Istanbul.
The parties reached an agreement that 3 thousand Ukrainian policemen will pass the training in Turkey.

According to the Head of State, it is a very efficient form of cooperation between the police of the two countries. In the framework of the training program “Teach and equip”, Ukrainian policemen will be also provided with all the necessary equipment.
The President informed on the arrangement to carry out the same exchange for the training in the National Guard and emphasized the efficiency of cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two states.
According to the President, a series of other important agreements have been reached. “First: final harmonization of the agreement on mutual investment protection and agreement on avoidance of double taxation that opens mutual investment opportunities for Turkish investors in Ukraine and for Ukrainian investors in Turkey,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The parties reached an agreement on the intensification of negotiations regarding the free trade area in order to reach a compromise and avoid any obstacles in bilateral economic cooperation.
The interlocutors have also discussed new projects in the fields of mechanical engineering and aircraft construction, as well as defense industry.
The President informed on the agreement to increase the term of national visas for the uninterrupted stay of Ukrainians in Turkey up to 90 days.
