First Ukrainian products supplied to EU consumers

“Two Ukrainian enterprises of the “Milk Alliance” Group have started exporting dairy products to the EU market. The first country to receive Ukrainian dairy products was Bulgaria”, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SPSA) reported.
This applies to two milk processing companies: the PJSC “Zolotonosha Butter-producing Plant” (Zolotonosha, Cherkasy Region) and the PJSC “Yagotynsky Butter Plant” (Zhurivka town, Kyiv Region). The first enterprise supplied to the EU markets 150 kg of dairy butter and 560 kg of cheeses, and the second is exporting milk “Slavia” and Yagotynske for Children milk.

According to Oleksii Pavlenko, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the permits to supply products to the European market create new prospects and boosts for the development of the Ukrainian dairy sector, modernization of production and product quality improving.
“The Ukrainian milk processing companies received the access to the EU market from the European Commission on January 10th, 2016. Even now we can note a progress in the promotion of the domestic milk and dairy producers on the EU markets.  This is another proof that Ukraine manufactures products of proper quality and safety standards, and this is recognized by the world”, Oleksii Pavlenko stressed.
The Minister added that, for the time being, agriculture was a key export industry in Ukraine – the share of agricultural sector in the total export of Ukraine amounted to 38%. Moreover, the agricultural sector provides 12% of the country’s total GDP. Today, we supply products to 190 countries. In 2015-2016, 11 new countries opened their markets for 300 Ukrainian enterprises of meat and dairy sector.
