According to
the Government plan, on May 1 it starts a first stage of boosting social
standards by 6%: "An overall yearly increase in social standards we plan
males up 12%, which will reimburse price and tariff hikes that were forecast
for 2016," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the CMU
session on Wednesday, 6 April.
Up to 10
million citizens – with 3.5 million public sector workers and 6.5 million
pensioners – starting May1, will be paid improved welfare payments.
In addition,
the Government raises by 10% the payroll for employees belonging to 1-3
categories of the Unified Wage Scale.
Apart from
that, according to the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko,
a total of about 14 million people will receive social benefits.
The Minister of Social Policy
stressed that ordinance of the Cabinet of Ministers contains clear instructions
that heads of budget institutions should not wait for departmental orders to
raise payments: "They should increase wages to their employees, by making
changes in staffing table by issuing relevant orders."
