Agriculture is a major sector of the Ukrainian economy and a major
assistance area for #USAID (United State Agency for International
Development).
For the last year, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of
Ukraine the first of its kind in Ukraine worked actively to spur needed
reforms, including endorsement of a National Strategy for Agriculture and Rural
Development 2015-2020.
USAID agency is proud to have contributed to the development of that
strategy. It is stated in the official letter from the United State Agency for
International Development (USAID).
USAID stressed that the Continuing of institutional reform by the Ministry
of Agrarian Policy and Food is critical to the Strategy's successful
implementation.
«USAID is pleased to note that in undertaking reforms, the Ministry is
transforming itself into a more efficient government body. As a result of the
Ministry’s deregulation initiatives implemented in
agriculture last year, agricultural producers can now re-invest the hundreds of
millions of dollars in savings they realized as a result of deregulation to
grow their agribusinesses and advance Ukraine’s economy», -the United State
Agency for International Development stressed in the letter.
According to the United State Agency for International Development (USAID),
the Ministry will need to address rural land reform and irrigation needs -
vital development areas if Ukraine is to fulfill its tremendous agricultural
potential: «In this case, USAID is committed to supporting further agricultural
reform efforts in partnership with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and
other stakeholders to help Ukrainians achieve the prosperity they deserve».
