Crimean Prosecutor demands to ban the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People

Crimean prosecutor's office appealed to the Supreme Court of the Republic with a statement which requires recognition of an extremist organization Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and ban its activity in Russia.


Nariman Jalalov along with his lawyer Cemil Temishev were invited yesterday to the prosecutor of the Crimea, where the prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya handed him a copy of the lawsuit to the Supreme Court of the Republic. According to a statement, the prosecutor's office calls to ban the activities of the Majlis on the basis of Art. 9 ("The responsibility of public and religious associations, and other organizations for carrying out extremist activity") of the law "On Countering Extremist Activity".
