Constitutional Court rules on amendments to Constitution in terms of justice

Ukraine's Constitutional Court has declared constitutional the revised draft law on amendments to the Constitution on judiciary.

The relevant decision was announced by Chairman of the Constitutional Court Yuriy Baulin on Monday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

"The Constitutional Court of Ukraine came to the conclusion that the revised draft law on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on judiciary as amended on January 26, 2016 meets the requirements of Articles 157 and 158 of the Constitution of Ukraine," the decision says.


The Constitutional Court of Ukraine also noted that the decision on the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada is binding, final and cannot be appealed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on January 28, the Verkhovna Rada sent to the Constitutional Court the revised draft law On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on judiciary.

The Constitutional Court began hearings on January 30.
