Ukraine to halt trade with occupied territories

According to Ukrainian cabinet's draft decree all trade relations between Ukraine and its occupied territories, Crimea in particular, will be halted

The government of Ukraine has drafted a decree on limiting the supply of goods and services to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Refat Chubarov said Sunday. 

Chubarov stressed out that under the decree all trade relations between Ukraine and its occupied territories, Crimea in particular, will be halted. 

He added that a citizen would still be able to carry goods, but their value cannot exceed $425 and weight -- of 50 kilograms. 


According to the Crimean Tatar leader, "humanitarian aid provided by international humanitarian organizations" would be treated as exception. 

He also that that members of the Crimea's civil blockade will keep their posts at the peninsula's border and will watch to ensure that the rules of the decree are implemented.

The draft decree will be reviewed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday.
