Checks being conducted on 48,000 officials - Justice Minister

Checks are being conducted on almost 50,000 state officials in line with the law on lustration.

Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko said in a report on the fulfilment of Government Action Program.

“Checks are being conducted on 48,000 current officials in line with the law and on 37,000 candidates for a position in the state service,” he said.

According to Petrenko, at present over 700 high-ranking officials are in a register of lustrated officials, and about 2,000 officials had resigned before the law came into effect.
