Groysman: We establish new institutions to fight corruption

The United States remains committed to our cooperation, our strategic partnership, and comprehensive support of Ukraine.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said this opening the Friday plenary meeting.

Groysman said that on Friday morning, the Verkhovna Rada leadership, heads of deputy factions and parliamentary committees had a meeting with United States Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew.

"We eyed a number of issues concerning our further economic cooperation," Groysman said.

At the meeting, Groysman said the Ukrainian Parliament had adopted a number of important legislative acts and all the laws are aimed at the enhancement of fight against corruption.


The participants in the meeting also discussed the ways to raise institutional capacity of Ukraine, further dialogue in the issues of economic support of our state.

The United States Secretary of the Treasury expressed his country's further readiness to support Ukraine both at the international arena and in domestic reforms as well as to assist it in enhancement of the its financial system.


Jack Lew highly appreciated achievements of Ukraine on the way to corruption uprooting, which, in his words, remains one of the major demands for further macro-financial assistance to Ukraine and successful development of economic cooperation. He pointed out the role of the Verkhovna Rada in creation of legal framework for reforms and development of effective cooperation with international financial institutions.
