President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stated Ukraine will never accept the violation of rights of the Crimean Tatar people and will do everything to return Ukrainian power to Crimea.
"I want to assure you that Ukraine will never, under any circumstances, accept the violation of the rights of its citizens, human rights, the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to live freely on their land. Ukraine together with our international partners will make every effort to restore the rule of law on the peninsula and return Ukrainian authority to Crimea," the head of state told the participants in the second World Congress of Crimean Tatars held in Ankara on August 1-2.
"Our plan is to develop a "road map" for providing Crimea, the historic homeland of the Crimean Tatar people, with the status of national territorial autonomy within the Ukrainian state," Poroshenko stressed.
He also noted that government institutions have been set up to deal with the realization of state policy with respect to Crimea.
The president expressed gratitude to democratic countries for support, including the Turkic-speaking states, and especially for the principled position of Turkey.
