Underlying
inflation in Ukraine in April 2014 slowed down to 4.6% after a rise of 10.8% a
month earlier, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to its data, since the beginning of the year
underlying inflation has reached 25.3%, while in annual terms (compared to the
same month last year) - 47.1% compared to 44.6% in March, 33.2% - in February,

Underlying inflation does not include short-term

event-based or seasonal character. For instance, it does not include changes in
the price of food and energy.
Consumer prices in Ukraine in April 2015 increased by
14%, while in annual terms their growth reached 60.9%. The main reason was the
increase in gas tariffs by 5.5 times and electricity by 33.6% from April 2015.
