Compromise or surrender?

In 2014, the Revolution of Dignity took place in Ukraine. One of the achievements of the revolution was the final establishment of the European vector of Ukraine's development.

Ukrainians have chosen European values. Defending these values, the participants in the Revolution of Dignity - the heavenly hundred - died. The intentions of Ukrainians to join the EU and the vision of Ukraine as a member of NATO were enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine.

The events during and after the revolution showed Russia's negative attitude towards the choice of the Ukrainian people. The Kremlin, as the center of neo-colonialism, annexed a significant part of Ukrainian territory: the Crimean peninsula and certain regions of the eastern part of Ukraine.

Subsequently, the Kremlin included the stolen Crimea into the Russian Federation. In separate areas of eastern Ukraine, the Kremlin created two republics and recognized these republics.
The Kremlin is currently waging war against Ukraine, killing civilians and wiping Ukrainian cities off the face of the earth.
Putin demands that Ukrainians change the country's Constitution, refuse to join NATO and recognize the fake republics created by the Kremlin on the territory of Ukraine. Putin also demands recognition by Ukrainians of Crimea as part of Russia.
To achieve his goal, Putin commits war crimes on the territory of Ukraine. He seems to be telling the Ukrainians: I will kill you until you fulfill my demands.
Currently, peace talks are underway between representatives of Ukraine and Russia. The course and subject of the negotiations are essentially kept secret.
If on the Ukrainian side such giants of the political establishment as Mykhailo Podoliak and Davyd Arakhamia take part in the negotiations, then on the Russian side the negotiating staff has a clear operetta coloring.
Hence the assumption arises that real negotiations about the fate of Ukraine are taking place in other places and between other persons. Perhaps, these negotiations are being conducted by the great defender of the interests of Ukraine, unshakable Mr. Andriy Yermak
From time to time, the parties to the negotiations release information in the media in order to probe the reaction of society.
Two theses attract attention. The first thesis of this NATO does not want Ukraine. The second thesis is a compromise with Putin.
As for NATO, there are statements that NATO does not want to accept Ukraine into its membership. Yes, indeed, some countries of the alliance openly support Putin (for example, Hungary).
They are against Ukraine today. Whether they will be against Ukraine tomorrow, when Ukraine finally overcomes corruption, we do not know for sure. Surely, we know that Ukraine's refusal from NATO through changes in the constitution is not a compromise, but is the formalization of Ukraine's capitulation to Putin.
Putin forbids the sovereign state of Ukraine from joining a NATO defensive alliance, as this will prevent him from seizing Ukraine piecemeal. And Ukrainians should agree to this ban in order to reach a compromise with Putin? Compromise with a war criminal? What are the consequences of this compromise? Will it be a compromise or a beautifully crafted surrender?
Perhaps instead of the Budapest memorandum, which proved to be untenable, Ukraine will be offered a new version of the Budapest memorandum - an agreement on security guarantees with the world's leading countries. How will this new treaty differ from the previous memorandum in Putin's perception? Will this new treaty keep him from subsequently seizing more parts of Ukraine? Or is this new treaty supposed to convince Ukrainians to make concessions to Putin?
Over time, we will know the answers to these questions. What we know now is that Putin will not stop until he destroys the Ukrainian state. The Ukrainian people will be able to stop Putin by defending Ukraine with weapons in their hands.
