Ukrainian President: Nothing endangers transit. Ukraine once again confirmed it is a reliable gas supplier to Europe

During the meeting on the threats to Ukraine’s energy security, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that “although we had to switch to fuel oil in certain generations, which significantly increases the cost of electricity, take other restrictive measures, they will last under the decision of the energy headquarters for a very short time”.
“The situation will be fully controlled,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had initiated a mechanism for the prevention of threats according to the Association Agreement with the EU. The foreign partners were informed of the blackmail attempt of Gazprom.

“We praise the statements made in the European Commission today by our partners, inter alia, by the German Government pointing out their understanding of who is responsible for the attempts to create this crisis situation. We are confident that the contract will not be broken. We are confident that nothing endangers transit. Ukraine once again confirmed it is a reliable gas supplier to Europe,” the President emphasized.
The Head of State added: “Regretfully, the Russian Federation and Gazprom once again demonstrated that as soon as cold weather comes they try to use gas supply as a mechanism of political pressure. They will not succeed - Ukraine is a reliable partner. These events confirm that once again”.
