Ukraine joins the Danube Transnational Programme development and launches a joint with the EU initiative EU Support for the East of Ukraine
Ukraine and the European Union have signed particular bilateral documents in the framework of the working visit of the delegation of the Government of Ukraine to Brussels. In particular, the Agreement on Financing of the Danube Transnational Program and the Agreement on Financing of the EU Support for the East of Ukraine were inked.
The Agreement on financing the Danube Transnational Program creates legislative framework and provides financial tools for the participation of Ukrainian companies in the initiative.
It also concerns the development of the Ukrainian part of the Danube area,
in
particular
in
Chernivtsi
,
Odesa
, Ivano-Frankivsk
and
Transcarpathian
regions
.
The main cooperation lines under the aforesaid agreement comprise innovation, environmental issues, infrastructure, energy efficiency, and effective governance.
The Agreement on financing the action EU Support for the East of Ukraine creates legislative framework for the realization of projects aimed to stimulate employment and boost economic growth in Donetsk and
Luhansk
regions, those remaining under the control of the Government of Ukraine, by providing assistance for the development of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, encouraging public initiatives, supporting structural changes in healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors.
