Intern in Press and Information Section

The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine offers internships to young university graduates 


The purpose of an internship within the EU Delegation to Ukraine is to provide the interns with an opportunity to:
  have a unique, first-hand experience of daily work of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine in a multicultural, multilingual and multi-ethnic working environment;
  learn about various aspects of the EU - Ukraine political association and economic integration as well as about the European integration process and EU policies in general;

 offer young graduates a possibility of applying the knowledge acquired during their studies.
At the moment, Press and Information Section is looking for an intern for a minimum period of 4 months, extendable for up to 6 months, starting in February 2017.
Description of tasks:
Under the supervision of the Head of Section of Press and Information, the intern will be closely involved in activities relating to information and communication. Tasks mainly consist of assisting in replying to public and media queries, managing social media accounts, contributing to the organisation and logistics of visibility events and preparation of publications, participating in meetings and conferences and supporting some of the administrative tasks.
Qualifications and skills needed: students and University degree holders, preferably in Journalism or Communication /Political Sciences/ International Relations. Good understanding of the EU - Ukraine relations, the EU integration process and EU policies. Good knowledge of Ukrainian political, social and media environment. Competence in drafting and translating text in English and Ukrainian, advanced user of Microsoft Office computer programs. Excellent knowledge of English and Ukrainian.

Internships at the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine are voluntary (non-remunerated) and create no contractual relationship with the European Union or the EU Delegation to Ukraine.  All interns are expected to follow the same working hours as the Delegation’s staff, with flexibility to take account of their immediate academic needs. Interns are not considered, under any circumstance, as part of the diplomatic staff of the EU Delegation.
