Ukrainian President: In case of full-scale Russian invasion we are ready to provide decent response

President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that the possibility of escalation of military conflict in eastern Ukraine remains high.

“Those who do not feel that must understand that the country is in the state of war,” the President said conveying military equipment and armament to the AFU in the course of the working trip to Kharkiv region.

“I emphasize that there is a war and the protection of our country is the issue of not only our Armed Forces. It is the issue of the entire Ukrainian nation, entire society and authorities. We all must do our best to defend our freedom, democracy, territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
“In case of full-scale Russian invasion, the possibility of which is, unfortunately, not excluded, we are ready to provide a decent response,” the Head of State stressed.
The President noted that in such a difficult situation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine must be permanently ready to perform military tasks of any difficulty. For this end, they must be properly trained and able to respond to the actions of the enemy immediately and efficiently.
The Head of State said that significant steps were being made in that direction. In particular, there haven’t been such types of Armed Forces as highly mobile airborne troops, special ops forces etc.
“Courage and heroism, bravery and self-sacrifice, fearlessness and combat fraternity demonstrated by our warriors every day, every hour, every moment have been inscribed in the national Ukrainian military history with golden letters,” the President said.
“As Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I ask you not to lose your potential and skills obtained in battles. You must improve your knowledge and perform combat tasks without hesitation in case of escalation,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
