For simplicity, we can call
Impact Hub a global network of startup incubators, of sorts. To focus on the
Odessa facility first, it has three floors. A social-coworking café is on the
first floor, open on a walk-in basis with a daily cover charge of 100 UAH. This
provides access to wifi, comfortable seating, a coffee bar and kitchen. The
second and third levels have conference rooms and dedicated co-working areas
(the Hub Lab), requiring advanced payment on a monthly, space-available basis.
You can find several pictures on their website to get
the “look-n-feel”. Almost everyone appeared to be in their 20’s engaged equally
between startups and freelance IT, marketing and graphics design.
Of special note, ImpactHub
maintains an active event calendar – something every day. Many events involve
startup presentations for social feedback, some skill training and a “TED-Lite”
format. If you want a good seat and intend to stay all day, it’s best to get

conversant in English. However, its web site is not available in English, perhaps
not so much an issue presently. As noted though, ImpactHub is a global network
with facilities in or starting across 107 cities and it has gone through growing pains. Nevertheless, one would be
hard pressed to find any establishment in Odessa getting 76 reviews on Google, say nothing
of ending up with an average 4.8 star rating.
August is a popular month for
vacations – so business entries and translations are off to a slow start, but
not for long.
