Petro Poroshenko and Andrzej Duda coordinated plans on further Ukrainian-Polish contacts at the highest level



Particular attention was paid to the intensification of dialogue in the context of Ukraine-NATO relations. The parties noted the importance of holding the session of the Ukraine-NATO Commission at the highest level within the NATO Summit in Warsaw in July 2016. The President expressed hope that Poland and other European countries would apply personal sanctions against persons involved in show trial of Nadiya Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and other Ukrainians illegally retained in Russia.

In the framework of the working visit to Washington, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda. The parties coordinated plans on further Ukrainian-Polish contacts at the highest level in 2016.
Petro Poroshenko noted that he counts on Poland’s support for the decision of the European Commission on the introduction of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU.

The Heads of State discussed the situation in Donbas and the initiative of Ukraine as regards the mechanism of de-occupation of Crimea. The parties noted the necessity of increasing international pressure on Russia with a view to make it fully implement the Minsk agreements.
The Presidents agreed on the expediency of preserving sanctions against Russia until full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty over Donbas and Crimea.
