President Petro Poroshenko met with newly
appointed heads of special anti-corruption prosecution and urged them to start
working and demonstrate the first results immediately. “It is our common
struggle, which is as important as struggle against the aggressor,” the Head of
State noted.
The President praised the appointment of Nazar
Kholodnytskyi and Maksym Hryshchuk. Thus, the potential of two finalists of
independent contest for the post of anti-corruption prosecutor was combined.
“People trust in you. This is the main thing for your efficient investigations.
Nobody is protected from these investigations. Today, you enjoy trust of the
President, Prosecutor General and people. I would like you to demonstrate high
efficiency from the very first days,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The President noted that the army and new patrol
police were the most credible state bodies at present. Special anti-corruption
prosecution must also work this way.
The Head of State recalled military experience
of cyborg Maksym Hryshchuk who entered the ranks of the Armed Forces
voluntarily in order to defend the Homeland. He is hopeful that Maksym
Hryshchuk will demonstrate efficient work in the anti-corruption prosecution.
In his turn, Maksym Hryshchuk noted that the post of the first deputy head of
the special anti-corruption prosecution would let him continue his struggle against
the aggressor in Donbas. “This post is an opportunity to continue this
struggle. I will do everything to not let you down and justify your
confidence,” he said.
Anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskyi
is hopeful that the SAP board will be formed shortly. “Let’s get down to work.
Tense weekdays are ahead. Maksym, thank you for being in our anti-corruption
team. Unlike that in the eastern Ukraine, our enemy is invisible, but we have
to fight it ruthlessly,” he said.
Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin informed that
the transfer of corruption cases to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau had
been started.
