The Trilateral Contact Group for the settlement
of the conflict in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, which consists of representatives
of Ukraine, Russia, and the OSCE, has agreed on a full ceasefire along the
contact line from 00:00 on December 23, 2015, according to Darka Olifer, the
press secretary of former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, who represents
Ukraine in the Contact Group.
"The key problem, which hasn't been solved until now, is ongoing shelling along the contact line. Therefore agreement has been reached to ensure a full and absolute ceasefire starting from 00:00 on December 23, 2015. This initiative is necessary, first of all, for civilians in Donbas so that they could spend Christmas and New Year holidays peacefully," she wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
