The National Bank of
Ukraine (NBU) for the second time this year replenished the official gold
reserves by 30,000 ounces of gold (31.1 grams), or about 0.93 tonnes, in
September, having brought the total volume to 870,000 ounces, or about 27
tonnes.
The value of the gold reserve grew by $41.96 million,
to $989.78 million due to the replenishment and a rise in price of gold by 0.8%
in September, the NBU said.
At the same time, the value of gold, which is not
included by the NBU into its official reserves, steeply decreased in September
to $22.6 million from $58.5 million.
Among the NBU's other reserve assets were financial
derivatives and loans to nonbank nonresidents, which grew to $500 million in
September from $147.56 million in August.
