The official cost of the Russian currency rushed to 71 rubles / dollar.
The Bank of Russia set the exchange rate for August 25 at 70.74 rubles, which is 2.6 more than the previous value of the ruble.
The dollar thus updated with a maximum of 1998, when it was re-denominated rubles.
The previous record of the official dollar exchange rate was established in February 2015, when the US currency was worth 69.66 rubles.
