Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has created
five district military-civilian administrations in the Donetsk region on the
division line in the eastern part of the country and two district
military-civilian administrations in the populated areas of the Luhansk region.
A decree to this effect, dated August 13, was
posted on the presidential website on Friday.
According to the document, the Artemivska,
Volodarska, Kostantynivska, Telmanivska and Yasynuvata district military-civilian
administrations have been created for administration in the sphere of ensuring
public order and security in the Donetsk region. The appropriate district state
administrations and the heads of these administrations now gain the status of
district military-civilian administrations and their heads.
In the Luhansk region, the district
military-civilian administration of the town of Rubizhne and the district
military-civilian administrations of the cities of Lysychansk, Novodruzhesk and
Pryvillia have been created.
Vitaliy Kovalchuk, first deputy head of the
Ukrainian presidential administration, said the district military-civilian
administrations in the Donetsk region have been created on the division line.
The decree was prepared with regard for the requests made by Pavlo Zhebrivsky
(the head of the Donetsk district military-civilian administration) and Heorhiy
Tuka (the head of the Luhansk district military-civilian administration).
"The district military-civilian
administrations in some districts of Donetsk and towns of the Luhansk region
have been formed on the division line, bearing in mind the exacerbation in the
area of the anti-terrorist operation due to the military aggression of the
Russian Federation against Ukraine and the need to avoid terrorist threats and
to ensure the safety of citizens of Ukraine," he said.
