The first graduates of the new Ukrainian police received certificates and ready to patrol the capital

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk presented proficiency certificates to the first graduates of the Police Academy of Kyiv patrol service on Thursday, July 2.

The Head of Government has stressed that Kyiv is only the first stage in the work of the new police force: "We'll go ahead and engage not only to major cities, but each regional center, every town so that people will see that the country is changing".

"This is a reform that will bring security to every Ukrainian family. These are changes in the Ukrainian police, which will protect every citizen, serve under the highest European standards and it will be the best police in Europe," he said.


The Prime Minister appealed to the graduates of the Police Academy: "Millions of Ukrainians trust you. And each of you will take the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. You are a new Ukrainian police. You are representatives of our new European Ukraine."

At the same time, he said, the graduates of the Police Academy should feel that the country respects every Ukrainian policeman, which serves to the benefit of citizens, "that the state cares about them, about their wages and social standards."
