The Flag of Europe was hoisted near the Presidential Administration on the occasion of the Day of Europe

On Saturday, May 16, on the occasion of the Day of Europe, President Petro Poroshenko raised the Flag of Europe near the Presidential Administration.
The Head of State has emphasized that Ukrainians deserved to be a part of the united Europe. "In November 2013, Ukraine firmly declared its European choice with millions of people who came to the European Maidan," the President said. Petro Poroshenko reminded that students had paid their blood for upholding the European values when they had been beaten on Maidan. Later, Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred have sacrificed their lives for these values.

Today, Ukraine realizes the responsibility and implements European reforms in order to change and become a true European state. The first step in that direction was made with the signature of the Association Agreement. 20 Member-States of the EU have already ratified this document.

"Today, we work hard to implement all the reforms declared in the Agreement," Petro Poroshenko emphasized. According to him, the National Council of Reforms had been established for the acceleration of reforms. "Our main goal is to provide an opportunity for our children to live in a country-member of the European Union. Nothing will force Ukraine give up the chosen path," the President said.
