The Ukrainian President and his wife have visited the premiere of documentary film "Airport" and communicated with direct participants of the events reflected in the film - defenders of Donetsk airport.
This documentary tells about the events of Summer - Autumn 2014 and
restores the details of the airport defense. The film shows brave soldiers that
have been called "cyborgs" for their courage, perseverance, military
valor and heroism.
The President has addressed "cyborgs": "Your feat has
revived the morale of the Ukrainian army. If it was not for you, the enemy
would be all over Ukraine now".
"We've learned to defend the state," the Head of State said
and thanked "those warriors and volunteers, soldiers and generals that
have created the army in a very short term".
"Today the army exists and has its victories and heroes. Glory to
Ukraine and Glory to Heroes!", Petro Poroshenko said.
"I have no doubt that we will liberate the airport, for it is our
land. And we will restore it. And we will put the remnants of iron
reinforcement and concrete under the glass there and write "Glory to
Cyborgs!" for the remembrance of them will live forever and the future
generations of Ukraine's defenders to be raised on your feat," the Head of
State noted.
The attendees have honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a moment
of silence.
The President has also thanked the shooting crew of the film for
recording the unbroken spirit of true Ukrainian heroes.
"I would recommend everyone to watch this film, for it educates
Ukrainians better than dozens of eloquent political speeches. It awakens the
soul and speaks to our hearts," Petro Poroshenko said.
