Questions and Answers on the eighth package of restrictive measures against Russia
30 additional individuals and 7 entities have been sanctioned, including the illegitimate Russian proxy authorities in occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions and other Russian individuals who organised and facilitated the sham referenda in these four occupied areas of Ukraine.
We are also targeting more individuals in the defence sector, including several Deputies of the Russian Minister of Defence, a major General who is the Commander of a Russian army unit occupying Ukraine, as well as persons and companies who support the Russian armed forces by providing army equipment and weapons, including missiles and fighter aircrafts, and who benefit from the war.
New listings also include those who spread disinformation about the war.

The justice system and the constitution in UK
The United Kingdom has three separate legal systems; one each for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This reflects its historical origins and the fact that both Scotland and Ireland, and later Northern Ireland, retained their own legal systems and traditions under the Acts of Union 1707 and 1800.
This website deals with the judiciary of England and Wales. It also briefly mentions the Tribunals Service, which extends to Scotland, and the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, which has jurisdiction over the entire United Kingdom since it replaced the Judicial Committee of the House of Lords in October 2009.
EU consumers will soon be able to use a single charging solution for their electronic devices
Under the new rules, consumers will no longer need a different charger every time they purchase a new device, as they will be able to use one single charger for a whole range of small and medium-sized portable electronic devices.
Regardless of their manufacturer, all new mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones and headsets, handheld videogame consoles and portable speakers, e-readers, keyboards, mice, portable navigation systems, earbuds and laptops that are rechargeable via a wired cable, operating with a power delivery of up to 100 Watts, will have to be equipped with a USB Type-C port.

New liability rules on products and AI to protect consumers and foster innovation (EU)
Today, the Commission adopted two proposals to adapt liability rules to the digital age, circular economy and the impact of global value chains.
Firstly, it proposes to modernise the existing rules on the strict liability of manufacturers for defective products (from smart technology to pharmaceuticals). The revised rules will give businesses legal certainty so they can invest in new and innovative products and will ensure that victims can get fair compensation when defective products, including digital and refurbished products, cause harm.

Walking in Kyiv: True Grit and Ukrainian ethnic painting
For me, there is no city on planet Earth more beautiful and better than Kyiv. This is natural since I was born and live in this city.
For me, there is no place of power better than For me, there is no place of power better than Saint Volodymyr Hill in Kyiv. This is natural, since my name is also Volodymyr.

European Media Freedom Act: Commission proposes rules to protect media pluralism and independence in the EU
The European Commission adopted today a European Media Freedom Act, a novel set of rules to protect media pluralism and independence in the EU.
The proposed Regulation includes, among others, safeguards against political interference in editorial decisions and against surveillance. It puts a focus on the independence and stable funding of public service media as well as on the transparency of media ownership and of the allocation of state advertising.
It also sets out measures to protect independence of editors and disclose conflicts of interest. Finally, the Act will address the issue of media concentrations and create a new independent European Board for Media Services, comprised of national media authorities. The Commission also adopted a complementary Recommendation to encourage internal safeguards for editorial independence.

Sources of Law
Sources of Law
The Law as a system of the law finds expression in the sources of the law.
The term “a source of the law” refers to the external form in which an objective law is expressed (the totality of all norms of law, the system of law).
In this sense, the sources of the law are: a legal custom, a normative agreement, a judicial precedent, a normative legal act and a legal doctrine.

Steps of creating laws in Ukraine and EU
The legislative process is a normative-regulatory set of sequentially implemented actions related to the development, adoption (amendment) of laws and other legislative acts and their publication.
The procedure for adopting a law consists of certain stages — these are independent, logically completed stages and organizational and technical actions.
The legislative process as a legal concept should be distinguished from law-making as a general social phenomenon.

How Spain and the EU can take steps forward for gender equality
We need to move forward faster
Progressive new policies are helping improve gender equality for the people of Spain. But the country’s leading voice on women’s rights admits, “we need to move forward faster.”
Now we all share concerns over economic hardships leading to increased risks of poverty and job insecurity. Still, today in Spain women also assume most of the domestic work and 70% of all care tasks.
We’re a long way from an equal sharing of responsibilities, rewards, and opportunities between women and men when it comes to care and domestic work.
