Ukrainian-Slovenian business forum kicks off in Kyiv

Today, Feb. 12, the official opening of a Ukrainian-Slovenian business forum took place at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the framework of the eighth meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Slovenian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
 The Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nishchuk, the head of a Ukrainian delegation of the Joint Ukrainian-Slovenian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation noted that today is important day in the development of partnership relations between the two countries, in particular in their trade and economic sectors, since today Kyiv hosts two major events – the Ukrainian-Slovenian business forum and meetings of the Ukrainian-Slovenian Intergovernmental Commission.

"The support of our Slovenian colleagues and the confidence of the Slovenian business is a positive impetus for Ukraine and  positive assessment of our work. At present, the Government of Ukraine is making efforts to improve the business environment and investment climate, to ensure equal rights and opportunities for both Ukrainian and foreign entrepreneurs. I am glad to note the fact that contacts between our states intenfify, and the partnership becomes more constructive and effective, "the Minister underlined.
In turn the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Dobran Božič, the head of a Slovenia delegation of the Joint Ukrainian-Slovenian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, emphasized that holding such business forums is a good base for strengthening the economy, establishing stable partnerships and multiplying the wealth of the state.
"It is very important that today achievements in the leading branches of pharmaceuticals, energy, industry will be presented - it is a good impetus for establishment of cooperation between our countries. I am convinced that, together with my Slovak and Ukrainian colleagues, we will be able to achieve significant progress", the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia stressed.
The program of the Ukrainian-Slovenian business forum encapsulates a plenary session, which will give insight into the immediate prospects and priorities of the Ukrainian-Slovenian economic cooperation, the conditions for doing business in Ukraine and Slovenia, the experience of integration the Slovenian economy into a single EU market and will present the business climate and investment opportunities of Slovenia and other topical issues.
Apart from that, B2B negotiations will be held between the representatives of business circles of Ukraine and Slovenia. Priority directions of the Ukrainian-Slovenian business cooperation include tourism, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction, alternative energy, energy efficiency and energy saving, waste management, wastewater treatment and utilization, woodworking, logistics.
