Prime Minister: Objectives for 2019 include financial stability, industrial development, investment in human capital development

Maintaining financial stability, pursuing an active industrial policy, primarily in the innovation segment and the production of a national product, as well as growing investment in human capital development driven by the economic growth, are the key objectives for the Government in 2019. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Forum "New Industrialization: Joint Actions of the Government and Business". The event is being held for the second time and appears one more platform to maintain an effective dialogue between entrepreneurs and government officials. This year, the Forum was attended by government officials, parliamentarians, diplomats, representatives of industrial associations and enterprises - members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to the Head of Government, the dialogue with business is always very positive, as it allows to create a quality environment for economic growth. "We have demonstrated a growing trend in the economy for 11 consecutive quarters. This is a good signal, but we understand that this is insufficient in order to settle historical problems. We can show off boost at the level of 5-7%. And the beneficiary of this growth must become the Ukrainian people", said Volodymyr Groysman.
To ensure such growth, assures the Prime Minister, is possible through the implementation of the Government's economic policy. "Our objective is to maintain financial stability and invest in economic growth", stressed Volodymyr Groysman. "Our priorities are as follows: improving the business environment, a new system of public sector management, fair and transparent privatization, and, hence, the flow of investments into the real sector, energy - we must reduce our dependence on imports and build upon our basis."
A key element enabling to realize the set goals will be the implementation of a balanced state budget for 2019, which includes incentives for industrial development, involves the implementation of large infrastructure projects, and also provides financing for social reforms, primarily in education and healthcare. So, next year, the Innovation Support Fund will be launched with the amount of financing worth UAH 300-350 million, as well as the Energy Efficiency Fund with a budget reaching about UAH 14 billion. The work on the launch of the Export Credit Agency will prolong. Sectoral support programs will also be continued, including those relating to the benefits when upgrading production.
"The changes we are making are not targeted. These are transformations that will affect different areas", emphasized Volodymyr Groysman. "And a strong economy allows us to increase investment in human capital development."
