U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Petro Poroshenko on the Independence Day: The people of Ukraine have something to be proud of over these four years

President of the United States Donald Trump sent congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine to President Petro Poroshenko. “On behalf of the American nation, I would like to congratulate you and the people of Ukraine on the 27th anniversary of your independence to be marked on August 24,” the letter reads.
"The people of Ukraine have something to be proud of: for four years Ukraine has been courageously opposing Russian aggression and has been blessed with a vibrant civil society, growing economy and the Armed Forces that are more powerful than ever," Donald Trump noted.

The U.S. President emphasized: “Please keep in mind that the United States will always stand alongside Ukraine when it defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders”.
The letter also reads that the United States Government will continue to work with Ukraine and support efforts aimed to strengthen democratic institutions, build up the rule of law, fight corruption and stimulate economic growth.
The President of the United States wished Ukraine a peaceful and successful year.
