Poroshenko critical of Poland's bill criminalizing Ukrainian nationalist ideology

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says the draft law on the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland, which, among other things, provides for punishment for the support of Ukrainian nationalist ideology (the so-called "Bandera ideology"), does not correspond to the declared principles of strategic partnership between Poland and Ukraine. "I am deeply concerned about the decision by the Polish parliament. The historical truth requires frank conversation and dialogue rather than bans," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook on Thursday, February 1.
