In September, the share of foreign capital in the banking system rose to 37.9% owing to the additional capitalization of banks

Data on the key performance indicators of the Ukrainian banks suggest that the share of foreign capital in the authorized capital of the Ukrainian banks rose from 31% as of September 1, 2015 to 37.9% as of October 1, 2015, in part owing to the additional capitalization of the banks with Russian capital for a total of UAH 16.6 billion.

In September, the regulatory capital adequacy ratio rose slightly, mainly reflecting a reduction in risk-weighted assets.

In September, the share of past-due loans increased slightly from 18.6% as of the beginning of the month to 19.9% as of October 1, 2015, reflecting an increase of UAH 9 billion in the total amount of past-due loans and a reduction of UAH 18.6 billion in the stock of loans.


In September 2015, total losses reported by operating banks amounted to UAH 6.1 billion, with the two banks accounting for 77% of the total losses. At the same time, 68 banks made a profit of UAH 1.1 billion last month.
