We are located on the eastern flank of NATO and jointly defend Europe - Ukrainian President during the Sea Breeze 2018 military training

President Petro Poroshenko stresses the importance of enhancing Ukraine's integration with the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance. While attending the multinational exercises "Sea Breeze 2018" during his working trip to Odesa, the President recalled his recent participation in the Brussels Summit of NATO. "I am confident that Summit’s documents help us further develop cooperation with our partners, reform the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reform the Naval Forces of Ukraine and change them for building on the basis of NATO standards," he stressed.

The Head of State thanked all the partners of Ukraine "for the firm, clear and constant support of Ukraine in the containment of Russian aggression".
This is not only the protection of Ukrainian territory. We are on the eastern flank of NATO. We jointly defend Europe," Petro Poroshenko said, adding: “We are open for the exchange of information, knowledge and practice, because Ukraine is practically the only country that has stopped the invasion of the Russian aggressor”.
"You know that Ukraine has clearly defined its vector of foreign political development - it's membership in the European Union, it's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. And it is an extremely important outcome of the NATO Summit for us that the final documents clearly show that NATO's doors to Ukraine are open. It is clearly stated that the decisions of the Bucharest Summit are valid and effective. It is clearly stated that no country, including the Russian Federation, is capable of stopping Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic progress," the President said.
"This is a sovereign right of the Ukrainian people. And I, as President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, have clearly emphasized that we must fix it in the Constitution of Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko said.
The Head of State thanked Ukraine's partners for their assistance in carrying out reforms in the security and defense sector.
The President wished all the participants of the training a successful implementation of the tasks. "Let the seas and oceans continue to unite our nations - Ukraine, NATO countries, our partners. And especially 19 countries, which together with us take part in the Sea Breeze 2018,” The Head of State emphasized.
