According to the law, the President declared expenses for the previous year, including, as promised, the money spent on vacation. Those funds were officially transferred in non-cash form from previously declared own accounts in compliance with banking and tax legislation of Ukraine. The amount is two times smaller than that mentioned in the media. Not a single kopeck was spent from the state budget.
About two hundred million hryvnias in 2017 were spent on charitable activities, such as social, cultural, medical programs, support for the army. They are not reflected in the declaration because such activity was carried out not by the individual, but by the nationwide organization "Poroshenko Charity Foundation" and legal entities whose beneficiary owner is Petro Poroshenko and which are indicated in his electronic declaration.
The total amount of such expenditures for social charity and strengthening of the country's defense capability for the period from 2014 to 2017 inclusive exceeded UAH 800 million.
During 2017, Petro Poroshenko did not receive dividends from the enterprises, the final beneficiary of which he is.
As you know, Petro Poroshenko's share in the largest asset, Roshen Corporation, was transferred to the confidential property of Rothschild, a world-renowned company with impeccable reputation. Last year, according to the response from the press service of the Presidential Administration, budgets of various levels received from Roshen 1 billion 188 million hryvnias of taxes, fees, UST and customs payments. For 2014-17, such payments amounted to UAH 4 billion 466 million.
The Lipetsk confectionery factory Roshen was shut down and closed according to the decision of the corporation's management. Sevastopol Marine Plant was originally "nationalized" by the occupying authorities of Sevastopol, and in early 2018, it was illegally proclaimed a "state property of Russia". However, de jure from the point of view of international and Ukrainian law, this enterprise remains Ukrainian. That is why it is included in the declaration.
The list of securities, real estate and movable property owned by Petro Poroshenko is unchanged: nothing new compared to 2016.
As for one of the land plots owned by Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv, he received a binding order for him as a holder to install a retaining wall on the slope of the site, which has already been repeatedly declared. Obtaining the warrant for the corresponding work, according to the law, is reflected in the section "Objects of unfinished construction". In addition to retaining the slope, other construction work on the site is not expected.
Petro Poroshenko has declared income since 1997. As it is known, he earned his wealth before becoming President.
In 2016, including thanks to the efforts of the Head of State, as a result of his political will, a system of open public declaration of wealth by high-ranking officials was launched in the country. According to the President, wealth and expenses of such persons must be confirmed by the legal, understandable income from which taxes are paid. The electronic declaration of the President meets these criteria fully. "Every hryvnia of my profits is declared and I am convinced that all Ukrainian civil servants, as well as politicians, both those in power and those in the opposition, should demonstrate the same transparency. And their "debit and credit" must correspond to one another," Petro Poroshenko noted.
