Prime Minister of Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman in Brussels held talks with President of the European
Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. The parties discussed the current situation
in Ukraine and the Government's plans for reforms.
The Prime Minister informed
the President of the European Commission that in the second half of 2016 the
Governments had managed to ensure macroeconomic stabilization in the country.
"For 2017 we see and
forecast economic growth. We talk about positive trends in the development of
the national economy", said Volodymyr Groysman.
He emphasized cooperation
between Ukraine and the EU is of strategic nature, and thanked for the support
for the crucial transformation processes.
"Ukraine is trying to
overcome the difficult path of change, and our main objective is to bring about
in the lives of the citizens of Ukraine tangible changes", said the Head
of Government.
In turn, speaking to media
people after the meeting, Jean-Claude Juncker said that Ukraine had
been realizing in the last three years large-scale, meaningful reforms.
"Ukraine is realizing reforms of a greater magnitude than those which were
realized during 20 years before", he said.
The European Union supports
Ukraine in implementing reforms and bringing about the necessary change,
stressed the President of the European Commission.
