President examined samples of modern weaponry: Active use of modern means of artillery reconnaissance will increase protection of our warriors

In the course of the trip to the military unit in Divychky, Kyiv region, President Petro Poroshenko examined samples of modern weaponry and military equipment of missile troops and artillery developed and produced by the defense-industrial enterprises. The Head of State also presented certificates for mortars produced by the Ukroboronprom.

“Active use of modern means of artillery reconnaissance should enhance security and protection of our warriors,” the Head of State said.
According to the President, the artillery has confirmed its important role in the course of the two years of hostilities in Donbas: “Means of artillery reconnaissance can detect the movement of tanks, armored combat vehicles, sabotage reconnaissance groups of the enemy and artillery units of Russian terrorist troops, as well as identify hostile coordinates to destroy targets”.
The Head of State noted that the situation in Donbas remained tense and the enemy kept trying to disrupt the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements posing risks and threats to the national security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.
“In such conditions, our Armed Forces make every effort to hold the touch line,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief emphasized that several problems must be solved for a successful implementation of military tasks: insufficient provision of modern radar complexes and laser rangefinders, night vision devices, lack of software and hardware means for automation of fire control based on tablets and PDAs, lack of unmanned reconnaissance complexes. Artillery units also need  equipment with modern technical facilities of long-range counterbattery means.
“The issue of supply of high-precision ammunition for the AFU also needs solution. It is another task for the Ukroboronprom,” the President said.
“I am confident that well-equipped and well-trained Ukrainian warriors will defend the borders and, jointly with our diplomats, make occupants get away from our native land,” the Head of State concluded.
The President examined the command post of the automated center of fire control developed under the NATO standards, reconnaissance and fire control system based on drones, means of tactical reconnaissance, night vision devices, sniper detection system, BM-21 M “Verba” modernized system of salvo fire, modern samples of weaponry produced by PJSC “Chezara”, Fly Eye reconnaissance complex, border control means, fight drones, medical vehicles and samples of small arms.
