President: These elections are important, for they should complete the reload of the government and create a pro-Ukrainian coalition in every council

In the course of his voting at the polling station in Kyiv, President Petro Poroshenko noted that those local elections were very important, for they should complete the reload of the government. The Head of State emphasized that a pro-Ukrainian coalition should be created in every council following the elections.

"It was crucial for me to hold presidential, parliamentary and local elections after the Revolution of Dignity. It is very important to hold the elections in conditions that ensure free expression of will of our citizens. They must meet the highest standards set during the presidential and parliamentary elections," the President noted.

According to the Head of State, new leaders of local communities will be elected during this vote. "Today, we voted for Kyiv to be a true European city, European capital. I think we will succeed," Petro Poroshenko said.

"It is important to form pro-Ukrainian coalitions in local councils preserving the principle of political competitiveness at these elections. We shouldn't give a single chance for the aggressor to destabilize the situation from inside the country. I am confident that the Ukrainian nation is wise enough and Ukrainian politicians are responsible enough to form these pro-Ukrainian coalitions," the President emphasized.

Together with his wife Maryna, the President voted at the polling station in Kyiv Officers' House.
