The first hearing in the Arbitration Institute
of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (Sweden) on the gas dispute between Russia
and Ukraine.
This was stated by Chairman of the Board of
"Naftogaz of Ukraine" Andrew Kobolev on the air "Channel
5".
"Our party has filed a final action, final
wording. We expect appropriate action on the part of Russia. It has been the
first hearing, and I think that somewhere in the beginning of next year we have
a very good chance to get a final decision," - said Kobolev. He
appreciates the chance to win the Ukrainian side to the Stockholm arbitration.
Recall, June 16, 2014 "Gazprom" asked
the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce with a request
for arbitration in order to recover from the "Naftogaz" unpaid debts
for natural gas and interest on this debt totaling more than $ 4.5 billion.
On the same day, "Naftogaz" turned to
the Arbitration Institute of the requirements of the retroactive change in
natural gas prices, reimbursement of overpayments carried them from May 20,
2011 in an amount not less than $ 6 billion. And the abolition of contract
provisions prohibiting implementation supplied by it natural gas outside of
Ukraine.
